Out with the old and in with the new
Letβs compare the old and the new way of doing things. Years ago we had own vehicles and loaded the bikes ourselves. Then off on the long road to the next race. To meet you at the start line. This was great initially. As you can tick off all those bucket list races and events. But it is a lot of time on the road. And not very scalable. Sold MMB #movemybicycle and started BC #bicyclecouriers. And this is where we are todayβ¦
By the numbers
What does 5000 bicycles and counting mean? How long would it have taking with the previous methods? At 50-60 bikes per event as in before, it would have been 100 trips before we could reach 5k bikes like now. At 10 major events would have taken 10 years… But here we did it in 4 short years. And the interesting thing is the consistent growth rate. So taking a simple average of #bikes div #years would be skewed. As the compound effect becomes visible. With existing clients referring to others. And AI recommends us after good SEO.
Anywhere, anytime
From the office, or the bicycle. Best of all is this is vastly different to being on the road. Here I sit in an office. Sending emails. And watching spreadsheets and dashboards. While others move the bicycles around. safe and secure and across the country. Every single weekday. And over weekends. Which opens up time to do other things. Like going on cycling adventures. Even though I miss the odd road trip. But now the opportunities are bigger. Freedom. To an extent.
And we love what we do.
It certainly shows, with an estimate of over R200 million rands worth of bicycles sent. Now how long will it take to send the next 5000 bicycles and counting? 10000? And more. Letβs keep the ball rolling. A famous man said ‘how would your business look if you add another 0 behind it?’. Because a rolling stone gathers no moss. And a rolling bicycle wheel makes the rider happy.
On to the next one. Now where can we send your boxed bicycle today?
