I contacted Bicycle Courier very last minute before a very popular cycling race in Cape Town. I needed to find a solution to ship the bike back to Johannesburg the very next day after the competition. Nico was very responsive and quick to get everything organised. And the price was very reasonable. I would definitely use this service again in the future.

After a long struggle to get my bike from Cape Town, Bicycle Couriers came to my rescue; need I not mention it was a tandem, quite an out of the box experience for them but they did the job with love, obstacles thrown at them but at the end of the day; my bike was delivered within time in Joburg just in time for the Ride Joburg 94.7. Y’all are quite the good brady bunch 😂. Thank you a million times and won’t even blink before recommending you.

In a complete state of panic I reached out to Nico to get my bike to me in time for a race in JHB. I asked on Tuesday and paid for a normal 3-5 day courier. I phoned Nico twice because I was in a state. I hadn’t paid yet. And I got home from work on Wednesday. My bike was in the hallway… Not sure how they did it, but they did!

Nico was aware that I needed my bike asap. And he duly obliged. I definitely recommend #bicyclecouriers!

I cannot really sum up my experience with the Bicycle Couriers in a paragraph but I will try. Everything just worked. It started off with exceptional communication from Nico’s side that instilled trust and he sort of just took over all the arrangements of my new bike to be collected at Trek Bikes in Lynnwood (Thanks, Johan Bedford for your part and input) and the next thing … my bike is delivered in pristine condition on schedule in a remote area of the Eastern Cape for a very affordable price. What stands out is the ease of the processes and the communication is exceptional. I like the entrepreneurial energetic vibe of the business. It’s just plain awesome service. I bought a fat bike from Durban and needed it couriered to Johannesburg. I wasn’t sure which product to purchase online and so I emailed Nico. I got a reply within a couple of hours and a link to purchase the courier service. Super quick and easy from there. Filled out my details, entered the collection details, and made payment. Received my bike 2 working days later from a super friendly, helpful courier and all was in perfect working order. No damage to the bike and no damage to the box. Really impressed with their service and will definitely use them again should I travel with the bike to races around the country. In short: Always cheapest if you are flying there and you can just book in the bike as extra luggage and pay the extra bag fee — rather than paying almost the price of a 1-way adult ticket just to send a bike! So it must be worth your while.

For example, if it is an entry-level bicycle for someone who is moving abroad: it might be better flogging it here and buying something new on that side, assuming there is no sentimental value 🙂

Hi Anton — we can deliver anywhere, but Jarrod (at Linden Cycles) or Franklin & Riana (at Arch cycles in Melrose Arch) or Oswald (at Cyclelab Fourways) or Shelby (at Eagle Canyon cycles) should all be fairly close to you.

Remember even with the 699 rate you do not have to deliver to a shop, we can deliver to your home or office if you prefer 🙂

Great service. First time using Bicycle Couriers and Nico was very helpful and responded quickly to all my queries.

It was an absolute pleasure dealing with Nico from Bicycle Couriers. This was my first time and I was a bit nervous and indecisive as to use Bicycle Couriers or just use normal flight extra baggage. However, they/Nico was very responsive to my concerns and all my questions via Email and WhatsApp. So, it was an easy decision. Additionally, I had to make amendments mid-transport, and again just went smoothly. Nico responded and got it done. To top it all off, I even got a follow-up from Nico, when the bike was delivered.
I will be a regular customer from now on.

Amazing experience. Had to get a bicycle from Cape Town to Pretoria within 3 days max and Nico was so quick to respond. The entire process was easy and efficient. Costs were also so reasonable, much better than major courier companies. Will definitely use you guys again and recommend it to anyone.

Service was good ito easy to use and quick pick-up at seller. Did get a little concerned when bike wasn’t delivered on Wednesday and then only late yesterday evening when was expecting it mid-morning.

Yes Kieren, we are trying to alleviate the stress of sending a new bicycle for the 1st time with someone that you don’t know – I am putting up a web article today to manage expectations – because the silly season has started for logistics and we see a large uptick in volumes – I will also specify a 4 day ETA iso the normal 3 days from now until after Christmas, then we can surprise to the upside 🙂

Nico and his team provided stellar service from the first email. I arrived on the scene as an anxious bike-on-a-plane newbie who needed to courier Mr Bike from Cape Town to meet me at OR Tambo Airport (not their preferred drop off point) for an international flight.
With a last-minute change of plan, my bike was dropped back at the depot for collection with much good cheer and nary a sigh of annoyance. Lekker, neh?

And Nico’s advice delivered in gravelly baritones soothed away all worries I had about checking in with a bike box.

I have to commend Nico, from the first contact I made to get a quote, he was attentive and on the mark. He is a specialist in the bike market and goes the extra mile. We recently, immigrated so all the negotiations and arrangements were made on WhatsApp, email and a call or two at strange hours. It soon became apparent I was going to become a statistic of a scam when proof of payment I received had discrepencies, after confirming with the relevant bank that the transaction number was untraceable, I contacted Nico and he assured me he would delay delivery. When we were 100% sure the unfortunate situation was a reality, Nico assisted by arranging delivery of my bike to a new and safe delivery destination. I have doubts another courier would so speedily have responded to my cry for help, being available even after hours.
