Need your bicycle down by the coast for the holidays? Then you’ve come to the right place!
Holiday Bicycle transport to the Garden Route – or anywhere else in South Africa. Fun in the sun down by the beach, with your bicycle! The garden route is a favourite holiday destination of many and it includes towns such as Mossel Bay, George, Wilderness, Sedgefield, Knysna, and Plettenberg Bay. With its official start at Mossel Bay and end at Storms River in the Eastern Cape. Other notable towns on or near the route are Oudtshoorn, Heidelberg, Stilbaai, and Albertinia, which offer various experiences from coastal beauty to Karoo landscapes. And yes we have cycled in and through every one of these.
Hartenbos
Holiday Bicycle transport to Hartenbos. Brand new bicycle shop that opened in Hartenbos and just I time for the December holiday period rush. Well done on Brenden and his KK Koffiekartel ebikes team for spotting a gap in the market and helping out when the traffic gets rough because of the road works between Mosselbaai and Hartenbos. You can now drop off your bike at either one of these KK branches, even though we only collect from Mosselbaai. They do their own internal bike transportation between the 2 shops. Baie dankie!
Mosselbaai
Holiday Bicycle transport to Mosselbaai. Historical start of the Cape Pioneer TREK which also kicked off again this week. Mosselbaai is one of our favourite destinations and it is so quick and easy to get there from CPT. Or from JHB as you can fly down to GRJ (sans your bicycle as we will deliver it to any bike shop in George or Mosselbaai) so you can travel light and easy. The easiest way to send a boxed bicycle in South Africa. And the bike shops at either end can help packing/assembling. Or we can collect door to door if you want to DIY.
Plettenberg bay
Holiday Bicycle transport to Plettenberg bay. The Beacon Isle and THE Bike Shop in Piesang valley road are the 2 things that first jump to mind when I think of Plett. And yes we do send quite a number of bikes to that famous bike shop for Kevin and Shay. Including that of Gerald de Kock: The Accidental Voice of Cycling after the Go to Berg that recently finished nearby. Go boys! Just beware of all the speed cameras around. But we cyclists don’t speed, unless it is on two wheels. And isn’t it lovely to drive in a car over a mountain pass that you have done on a bicycle (sometime many times) before?
George
Holiday Bicycle transport to George. George is the centre of attention when it comes to the Garden route. It hosts the airport, which is relatively cost effective to fly to or from. And our local depot for servicing the area to deliver your boxed bicycles. Plus a heap of qualify bike shops covering brands like Specialized, Giant, TREK, Cannondale and more. Then there is ample shopping at the mall, great golfing at Fancourt and Oubaai. And my favourite gravel pass to climb, even though it is currently in a state of disrepair (and I wonder whether it is still accessible, even just on the way up): Montagu pass from GRJ towards Oudtshoorn. Perfect for the return leg back to your car after the Attakwas in January. Let’s go!
Sedgefield
Holiday Bicycle transport to Sedgefield. We drove past Sedgefield a fortnight ago and I looked out the car window with longing eyes to the Sedgefield Cycleworx bike shop in the main road where Eugene used to operate. He since moved on with a changing of the guards shortly before passing away last month. Time waits for no-one, make it count. Oh and it is long overdue for another spin with Izak and or Marcus around Sedgefield for a coffee (or beer) at the beach. Secluded and quiet. Fond Sedgefield holiday memories from previous years. Just don’t forget the have the correct license plate on your THULE rack to match your own car’s…
Knysna
Holiday Bicycle transport to Knysna. Knysna remains a firm favorite but not only during DEC holidays, in fact all year round. We’ve just finished the K2C there and had a lovely few days at Pezula afterwards. And the Gravel Burn from Kevin Vermaak has its inaugural start at Knysna later this month. Is he from there? I love the restaurant at the Turbine and the breadbasket as part of breakfast at Ile de pain on Thesen island. Plus, the downhill down Simola and the climb up Pezula. And there are a whole heap of bike shops to pick and choose from when sending your bicycle to or from Knysna, just have a look at all the options on bicycle-transport-knysna/
Jeffriesbaai
Holiday Bicycle transport to Jeffriesbaai. Super fond memories from an early childhood as this is where we spent half of our DEC holidays camping at the sea. And we went there again end of last year to soak up the sun and the perfect waves. Oh and also the finish venue for the Transbaviaans, which we’ve done 5x now. It has been going for over 21 years(!) and Over the years, the Trans Baviaans has grown into something far greater than a race — it’s a community, a story, and a memory-maker. Whether you’re riding for your tenth medal or lining up for the first time, you’re now part of that legacy.
Cape St Francis
Holiday Bicycle transport to Cape St Francis. After we did the ARW Adventure Racing World Series in CSF Cape St Francis I noticed many more holiday goers coming here for the DEC holidays and bringing along their bikes. So much so that it anecdotally seemed to overtake some of the other popular coastal holidays destinations. Oh, and do you know that Coimbra cycles (my favourite bike shop in PLZ with Ewan and Arno and Quintin and the team that have supported us for almost a decade now) have also opened a shop in St Francis. Yip, Arno is there to sort out your bicycle. And your boxing. Easily.
Port Elizabeth
Holiday Bicycle transport to Port Elizabeth. Yip, I was born here. And have very fond memories of PE. And still go down to visit ever so often. Whether it is overlooking the next IRONMAN® race from the deck in Seaview. Or popping into Ewan and the team at COIMBRA cycles in Walmer (awesome new store with such clever storage space at the back behind the shoes). Or cycling through Summerstrand or along the beach road. Een trying art in the park, local T20 cricket matches, the famous mini railroad, or hoping to get there in time for the VW Volkswagen factory tour in Uitenhage. Then there is also Addo olifantpark and so much more to do. But the best remains the secluded beaches (if you know where to find them) and the perfect warm sea water of the warm Atlantic current.
Cape Town
Holiday Bicycle transport to Cape Town. Now this is an obviously busy one for us at bicycle couriers. As the most popular route for sending bikes in SA is between JHB or PTA and CPT. Followed by DBN. This being our main route we are certainly prepared for sending many bicycles up and down here over the DEC holidays. So, the whole of Gauteng can come down and experience the wonders of the Cape, including the mountains and winelands and waterfront and outdoor fun all round. On and off your bicycle. Oh, and what I like best is we often get families so a single booking will be for not 1 but for 2 or 3 or 4 bicycles at a time. Which makes our life so much easier.
And more
Yes, anywhere and anytime. We collect your bicycle to or from your door or local bike shop and send it from (A) to (B) anywhere in South Africa and beyond. Tell us where you want to go and we will make it happen. Now where can we send your bicycle today?
