My trusty Specialized EPIC comp alu XL from 10yrs ago is due for an upgrade. New versions are well over 100k. Want to do the same? Easy. Take the following scenario. You are based in JHB and you spotted a bargin in CPT, say Stellenbosch. Now you want 2 things to happen. First, someone to check out the bike and verify what the seller has told you so that you can see if the actual product matches the specs. And someone to check our that there are no obvious material defects that you cannot see in photo’s. So you employ the services of a local bike shop. The seller can take it into a shop you trust (ask for suggestions). Then an independent party can check out the bike and let you know what is happening.
