UPDATE: KZN floods and bicycle delivery times

How does the DBN floods impact the delivery time of my bicycle?

It never rains but it pours

A popular bicycle transport route of ours is JHB DBN and CPT DBN, and with the current devastation in KZN (due to death and destruction dealt by Mother Nature in the form of landslides and flooding) it is worth noting of the following potential delays.

From the web

I saw that Parts of KwaZulu-Natal had five months’ worth of rain yesterday — with more to come; and there are numerous aerial PICS posted on social media showing the damage, including the Toyota factory flooded, operations halted.

RE: DELAYS DUE TO INCLEMENTAL WEATHER IN DURBAN

Please be advised that the Greater Durban area and surrounds is currently experiencing heavy downpours and flooding. The N3 is closed at Mariannhill due to mudslides, and authorities have advised that alternative routes are currently not safe with infrastructure being impacted by the weather. As a result, all Durban bound linehauls are currently parked in Pietermaritzburg until the road is opened and is deemed safe for travel.

Good news!

We are fortunate and have had no losses and all your bicycles are safe and sound but may take and extra day or so to be either collected from or delivered to your chosen destination. Kindly bear with us during the time.
