2-way comms from WooCommerce into Google sheets and back to WooCommerce
An automation per day keeps the doctor away. Today we implement the 2-way comms between google sheets and back to our Bicycle Couriers website. More specifically: “How to update a WooCommerce order from within Google Sheets by using the AFI Advanced Form Integration plugin”.
Why do I need this? Because we manage the Bicycle Couriers orders: not from within the WooCommerce website. But from a google sheet. Because I love spreadsheets. And it is so much faster to view all info at once. From new order. To shipment. With tracking. To delivery. And then to close off the online admin. And ask for a client review. Because we love seeing how well we have. And where we can improve. Because that is how we learn.
Result!?
Now I will be able to close off a client order directly from the google sheet as it talks back to WooCommerce. And instructs the website to (A) close off the order and (B) send a confirmation and thank you email to the customer and (C) ask for a review. Pretty cool right? We love time saving tips and tricks like these. Because it is efficient. And saves us some time. So, we can focus on sending more bicycles.
Do you want to do the same? Ask Webandmore. But certainly not for free.
PS, tools used in this example…
- WordPress. What is WordPress? WordPress is a free, open-source Content Management System (CMS) that allows you to create, manage, and publish websites without needing to write code. It powers over 40% of all websites on the internet, making it the most popular website building platform in the world. And we use it for the #bicyclecouriers website.
- WooCommerce. What is WooCommerce? WooCommerce is a free, open-source e-commerce plugin designed for WordPress. It allows users to transform any standard WordPress website into a fully functional online store to sell physical products, digital downloads, subscriptions, and services. And we use it for the #bicyclecouriers online shop.
- Google sheets. Sheets is Google’s online version of Excel. Google Sheets is a free, cloud-based spreadsheet application offered by Google. It allows you to create, edit, and format spreadsheets directly in your web browser or via mobile apps, with all data securely stored in the cloud. It is highly prized for its real-time collaboration features, enabling multiple people to work on the same sheet simultaneously. Perfect for managing bicycle shipments.
- AFI advanced form integration. What is AFI? Advanced Form Integration (AFI) is a powerful, code-free WordPress plugin that connects your website’s forms and site events to over 200 external platforms, such as CRMs, Google Sheets, email marketing software, and helpdesks. And this is our preferred way of getting live customer order data into our google sheet for managing bicycle courier orders and collections and deliveries.

Turns out AFI by default allows for 1-way comms into sheets and not the other way around so we are back to the drawing board and ready to look for the next best way to save some time by solving this riddle.
