Actual customer Q&A, on where to get bicycle boxes for transport
We received the following question from customer A, who is looking to send his boxed bicycle from JHB to CPT, using our quick and easy and cost-effective bicycle couriers service to deliver his bicycle from point A to B. In this case from Benoni to Stellenbosch. So, where to get bicycle boxes?
It went as follows:

- He said, Thanks! “What does it entail to box your bicycle. I doubt the bicycle shop near me will have boxes to box the bicycle. Where can one get these boxes?”
Easy, grab a bicycle box from any good LBS. This is how it works.
Hi Renier, it’s quite common, and happens all the time. Bike shops get in new stock in cardboard bike boxes. They can either throw away the boxes or recycle them. So, boxing your bicycle simply means putting it back in such a box. And usually, the rear wheel stays on and you only have to remove the pedals and turn the handlebars or loosen it at the stem (to reduce the width) and take of the front wheel at the quick release (to reduce the length).
If your Benoni LBS doesn’t have boxes, how about taking it to Cyclelab Boksburg, also close, and they charge just 349 for the box and labour included – so you can just hand in the bike – they box it – and we collect from them when ready. And because they are a large shop they always have boxes, and we deliver bicycles after the CTCT to them again this week, so more boxes.
