Are you looking for a Furniture removal company?

Furniture removal company to the rescue, with #bicyclecouriers

Here we have a case study for finding a furniture removal company. And let me tell you it is not always as quick and easy as you think. Because the last thing you want to do is to listen to ‘there goes my only possessions’. Like in the Stuttafords van lines advertisement of old below.

CASE STUDY: getting a quote from 5+ different furniture removal companies

Plus one. Which means half a dozen furniture removal companies contacted for quotes. Results below.

Triptych – quick and responsive but tends to be more expensive and this was a case in point as the quoted amount was over the client budget, and we booked elsewhere. With the loose items nature of the inventory listed you can understand it takes 1 day or so for an answer. And yes, I do include them when getting prices as we have a longstanding relationship. Thanks Team Triptych.

Easy – cool that you can do everything online with easy move but the process is slightly more complicated than required. At least in our humble opinion. As there are many clicks before you get to an answer. But they were quick and responsive as I submitted my request on Wednesday lunch time and got a quote but the next day after hours on Thursday 8pm. Well done Eezi move.

Plus some with results still in the mail…

Pickfords – now they have been in SA since 1904 and are in over 130 countries and have been moving for over a century. My first impression was twofold: (A) they can certainly get the job done and (B) would this be a case of more red tape because it is such a large corporation? Ater submitting all details and inventory list I got a confirmation email from the branch manager that the sales team would be in contact. That was the last I heard of Pickfords till the time of writing. Maybe it is still in the mail.

Biddulps – this was a second example of a great online system that ultimately did not yield a quote into our inbox. I submitted all the details. Was contacted by the local sales department. And another person. And stressed that we need a quick answer in order to make a decision. Somehow we fell into the email loop that prompts you to book the accepted quote, without having received a price first. Maybe double-check the Zoho loop, Biddulps international?

Campos – submitted my details and did not receive a quote, two days later, by the time we already booked and paid for the move with another company. Note Migco is a division of Campos. Back and forth. And then on to the next one after Campos Transport. *Note that, in fairness, this was at the time of writing, which was 2 days after requested same. It might be that some are still on the way.

This begs the question:

Why is it so difficult to get a quote from a furniture removal company?

The above shows that it was a real hit and miss for getting quotes from a furniture removal company. Which leads to frustration. I get where our customers are coming from. Because we have been there ourselves. And that is why you may very well choose to use an aggregator like #bicyclecouriers. You may very well be able to get a better quote in a quicker turnaround than going at it alone…
