HOW we saved 80+hours with the MAKE automation

TBH, this MAKE automation took WAY longer than anticipated…

To be honest, it did. But let’s see what we have done here. To MAKE things work. Call it what you want. MAKE automation. Or MAKE integration.  Assume it took me 4hrs to things up and running. That is way longer than the 30mins to 1hr I expected. But even if it was half a day, it was still totally worth it. Because now, I can close off customer orders right from the google sheets where I do all my other bicycle couriers order management. And the system sends the emails. And request for review. No longer a manual process. Which was quick in it’s own right. But it added to a mental drain and slog on my part.

But it was SO worth it. Just look at the numbers.

Assume it took 3mins per order to close off. And now it happens instantly.

  • Not logging into WordPress and WooCommerce.
  • No finding order numbers.
  • Don’t have to manually click to close the order.
  • And I don’t have to send those emails.

What will you do with an extra 80 hours?

That is a lot of action, even if it only takes a few minutes. Because a few minutes add up over the course of a year. This right here conservatively saved me 80 hours in a year. That is the equivalent of 2 whole working weeks. Half a month. Not bad for an afternoon’s work.

PS,

This right here is another example of the bicycle couriers way. if at first you don’t succeed then try again. Until you do. Which is what we have done here. And it worked, beautifully. Now what is the next item on the list that we can automate? I know… check back soon!

+30mins troubleshooting – success – (since it’s an instant custom webhook, it will fire immediately every time you type “done”, regardless of the free plan’s 15-minute polling limit) – nice one!
