We make bicycle transport personal
The good and the bad and the ugly. Some happy words and bright colours to give you a sneak peek at what happens behind the scenes. Join us for a quick and colourful look at some of the things you/we encounter when dealing with different service providers, for boxed bicycle transfers. We do, so that you don’t have to…
A red service provider
Holiday periods can lead to out of spec (read: late) deliveries, so we have learned to manually create a buffer to compensate for the heavy loads during certain times of the year. Extra admin on our part but certainly required in order to have a well-oiled machine and to ensure that bicycles arrive on time. You can thank us later. Or go direct route and learn to manage your expectations.

A blue service provider
Legacy systems that are the opposite of intuitive to use and can soak up your productivity with too many clicks and going back and forth. It works, but not so fast. What about a system that browse like the world wide web, without you having to cut and paste and remember and save? Not here. Full marks for the call center operators when (not if) things go wrong, but less so for the sales personnel.

A yellow service provider
If you like working through a ticketing system, or a call center that cuts off, or transfers you to unanswered extensions time and again, then this one is for you. Plus, you need an account. Good luck. Often when dealing with the above I think that Bicycle Couriers are way to cheap for the value we add. You get a seamless service experience while we deal with the nitty gritty in the background.

A green service provider
Unfortunately, the system is a manual one, so no tracking numbers, and orders are booked via email iso a platform. This is the only one on here where the sender must manually complete the waybill, we cannot get or generate a pdf and send it to them to print and stick on the box for collection. I prefer to have system that feeds info from the website right through to a collection and a waybill (with humans checking it along the way, because we cannot leave the bots all to themselves).

An orange service provider
Expensive and you need an account to send through them so that rules out most end users. Main centers are straightforward but remote areas need to be quoted on which can delay a quick and easy answer to your client. After going through the account opening process, the actual billed amounts were much high than our expectation and it made no sense to continue with this service. That’s how we learn.

A shining light at the end of the tunnel…
Do you want to speak to a real human? Or not, as you don’t have to — the Bicycle Couriers site is plain and simple, and you can book your 1-way or return bicycle transport without ever having to speak to a single person. Or to have an account. The choice is yours. We are here and happy to help and love talking about all things cycling. Allow Bicycle Couriers to be your night in shining armour.
