Of the last 3000 bicycles we haven’t shipped a single one with TCG the courier guy, but we have used them for other items. Which is why it is important to take note of the few pointers below. TLDR: in short. (A) Declare batteries. (B) Book trucks in advance. (C) Know what the surcharges are. And (D) for Don’t send oil or liquids unless you want an RTS return to sender. Collections with oil/liquid will be RTS

What is RTS? Return to sender. Important Notice: Effective immediately, The Courier Guy drivers will no longer accept or collect shipments containing any form of oil or liquid, with specific reference to mechanical and/or electrical goods such as engines, engine components, or gearboxes. Any parcels booked or collected that fall under this category will be returned to the Sender. For more details, please refer to Clause 11 of our Terms and Conditions.

Truck collections and surcharges and T+1

Shipment Disclaimer & Truck Arrangements. Please note: Ensure all shipment details (dimensions, weight, and addresses) are accurate to avoid additional charges. Incorrect addresses may result in extra costs due to out-of-route deliveries. We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining transparent pricing and excellent service.

  • Truck Surcharges:Additional fees may apply for oversized or large-quantity shipments.
  • Truck Collection Arrangements:Schedule truck collections with at least one business day’s notice. Collection times will be confirmed upon scheduling.
  • Truck Waybill Submission:For truck collections, send your waybill to the relevant address for JHB and CPT and DBN. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

What can I not send? And declare batteries*

Flammables. Bleach. Toxic substances. Oxidizers. Corrosives. Compressed gas. Incapacitating sprays. Explosives. Fireworks. Bombs. Weapons. Radioactive materials. Infectious substances. Illegal substances. Drugs. *NB new and important. The following must be declared when sent via air freight: loose batteries or devices containing batteries. Declare the goods in the parcel details when booking. Pertinent to ebikes.

Special requests

Do you want to add liability cover? Liability cover – Rate depends on declared value. Optional and Max R30k cover insured amount at a rate of R690 for the premium. Which comes to 2.3% of the value insured. And Do you have any special requests? See below. These are added to the bill.
