Tebogo: Blind cyclist completes the Amashova cycle tour

Thanks to #bicyclecouriers!

Blind cyclist completes the 38km Amashova in DBN. Yes at bicycle couriers we try to do our bit where possible. And it is not only the Warrior on Wheels Foundation that was represented at the Amashova national classic cycle race in DBN a week ago. But also the VATA organisation as a blind cyclist, Tebogo,  completed the race on the back of a tandem. With some help from #bicyclecouriers and AVIS and Southern Sun and others. Stellar job Tebogo and pilot Marlon. But first, a picture is worth a thousand words, see how they did it below. Followed by a heartfelt thank you and letter of appreciaton from our blind cyclist.

Appreciation letter

Dear Nico and #bicyclecouriers

I hope this message finds you well. I want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous transportation support for the Amashova Cycling Tour and the Ride4Sight campaign. Your assistance played a crucial role in ensuring that the tandem bike I used to participate in the race reached KZN.

The impact of the event has been remarkable. Our social media platforms are buzzing with excitement, and we have begun talks with Hollywood Bets about potential funding opportunities. Additionally, we might be scheduled for a radio interview with Power FM to discuss the event further. It’s also wonderful to share that the ladies from the South African National Council for the Blind have shown great interest in joining us next year on the tour.

While we faced some challenges during the event, your support helped us overcome many hurdles. Looking ahead, we are eager to improve our planning for next year, aiming to make an even greater impact with your continued partnership.

Thank you once again for believing in our mission and supporting our efforts. We look forward to working together to create a more inclusive environment for everyone.
