Do you know about Corné Krige’s MTB tour? I certainly didn’t… And Corné & Tiaan are probably the only 2 cyclists I know that are allowed to cycle on Freddie’s farm Goedvertrou in Stellenbosch without asking!
We’ve been sending bicycles all across the country for a number of years now. I’ve been fortunate to do pretty much all the MTB stage races, road races and local cycle tours on my extended bucket list. Yet yesterday morning I stumbled onto a brilliant MTB excursion by chance. This is how and why: Eugene from Nando’s (yes, those awesome advertisements) was referred to us by another happy #bicyclecouriers customer and when he booked his bicycle transport to the 2024 TOUR DE KRIGE, I was naturally inquisitive.
Welcome to the Tour de Krige!
Even though Corné himself is tough-as-nails (in his #1st match as Springbok rugby captain they thrashed Italy 101 points to zero) — his MTB tour is more manageable. It consists of 3 glorious days on the trails, cycling around 50km each, and limited to a personal experience for just 40 riders. Participants of all ages and fitness levels are welcome to join as he guides the tour group on a trip through Big Five territory. And it is about more than just cycling:

Where is the Tour de Krige?
The Tour de Krige takes place at the five star Gondwana Private Game Reserve on the R327 Heuningklip Farm, which is about halfway between Mosselbay and Herbertsdale. Your closest airport is just around the corner in George, and we can send your bicycle to a bike shop in George (suggest JP at Specialized Coimbra Cycle House in York street), or straight to the start line at Gondwana.
When is the Tour de Krige?
The tour takes place during the month of May, with this years’ edition starting on the weekend of 23 May 2024. Good news — the Tour de Krige is back! With big names such as Aramex.com and Momentum Corporate and Clarity Diamonds officially joining the ride as our sponsors.
