Five things you probably don’t know about TREK bikes:
- Trek was founded in a barn: In 1976, Richard Burke and Bevil Hogg started making bike frames in a red barn in Waterloo, Wisconsin. They named their company “Trek” after the Dutch word for journey.
- Trek has a wide range of bikes: Trek offers a wide range of bicycles, from road bikes to mountain bikes to e-bikes to kids’ bikes. Some of their most popular models include the Madone road bike, the Fuel EX mountain bike, and the Verve hybrid bike.
- Trek supports cycling advocacy: Trek has a history of supporting cycling advocacy organizations and initiatives, including the League of American Bicyclists, PeopleForBikes, and the World Bicycle Relief.
- Trek owns several other bike brands: Trek is the parent company of several other bike brands, including Bontrager (which produces bike components and accessories), Electra (which produces cruiser bikes and e-bikes), and Diamant (a European bike brand).
- Trek has a custom bike program: Trek offers a custom bike program called Project One, which allows customers to design their own unique bike, choosing everything from the frame and components to the color scheme.
