Bianchi is an Italian brand that is known for its high-end road bikes. Here are 5 things you might not know about them:

• Oldest bicycle manufacturer in the world: Bianchi was founded in Italy in 1885, making it the oldest bicycle manufacturer still in existence today.
• Celeste color: Bianchi is famous for its “Celeste” color, which is a distinctive turquoise-green shade. The color was reportedly inspired by the color of the Milan sky, and has become synonymous with the brand.
• Pioneers of new technologies: Bianchi has been a pioneer in the use of new technologies in bicycle design, such as the use of aluminum frames and carbon fiber frames.
• Collaboration with Ferrari: Bianchi collaborated with Ferrari in the 1990s to develop a high-end racing bicycle with a carbon fiber frame. The bike, called the Bianchi-Ferrari, was sold in limited quantities and is now a sought-after collector’s item.
• Bianchi in space: Bianchi bicycles have even been to space! In 1991, Italian astronaut Franco Malerba brought a Bianchi bicycle on board the Space Shuttle Atlantis and rode it around the cargo bay during a mission.
