- The company was started in a loft above a pickle factory: Cannondale was founded in 1971 in a loft above a pickle factory in Wilton, Connecticut.
- They were one of the first companies to produce aluminum frames: In 1983, Cannondale introduced the first all-aluminum bike frame to the market, the ST500.
- Their bikes have won multiple Tour de France stages: Cannondale-sponsored riders have won multiple stages in the Tour de France, including the coveted yellow jersey.
- They have a partnership with a motorsports company: In 2018, Cannondale formed a partnership with the motorsports company EF Education First, creating the EF Education First-Drapac p/b Cannondale professional cycling team.
- They produce a unique line of bicycles called “Lefty”: The Lefty suspension system is a unique feature of Cannondale bicycles. It uses a single, upside-down fork leg on the left side of the bike, rather than the traditional two legs. This design reduces weight and increases stiffness.
