Perfect example of how #bicyclecouriers go the extra mile
Delivering a boxed bicycle before a race. In George. Just before midnight. Why and how did this happen. Let’s have a little look below. We send boxed bicycles across the country. And we collect every single weekday. It takes about 3 days between main centers, on average, keeping in mind this is peak season that is starting now and volumes are increasing. Case in point in the ITT update following soon. And we are very quick of not near instant to reply on incoming requests for bicycle transfers. Which is why I was so puzzled today when I was accused of not answering someone, in quite detail. How can some accuse us of he opposite of bicycle couriers go the extra mile?
The customer isn’t always right…
Turns out we did reply, on email, near instant, in amazing details, including exact timeframes, about what was to be expected. Yet the recipient either didn’t read the email or acknowledge the email. But she was in a spin because there is a bicycle tour/race/event starting this weekend and it cost her quite a bit of money to enter and now she says her bicycle will not be there. not on my watch. Even if it is not our mistake at all. So bicycle couriers go the extra mile. Again. As follows.
Midnight bicycle delivery
As I sit here typing this post I am glad to report the bicycle was delivered ahead of time as we promised and the rider can now go and enjoy her tour. But I don’t want to have to make arrangements at this late hour. Yet I also want to maintain our 100% flawless record where I can state that no-one that used our bicycle courier services has ever been able to say that they were not able to do a bicycle race our tour or event because there bicycle wasn’t delivered on time. And why is this so important to me? Not only for my 100% track record. But because I am the same as my customers. I also take part in these events and races all the time and go through the same thoughts and feelings. Isn’t that wonderful?
Kind request
So please people, provide all the info. Sticks to the rules. Read your emails. And then go and enjoy your race. I want to make sure your bicycle always arrive there before you do, where possible. Then I don’t have to sit in Stellenbosch and organize midnight bicycle deliveries from DBN to George for an event that takes place over the weekend around Grabouw. Sending it to and from the wonderful location of Richard Cherry’s Cherry Glamping in Grabouw. Wow. Now that is a mouthful. Then we can just stick to our normal routine. But yes I have to say it just one more time, we have shown again that bicycle couriers go the extra mile.
Many thanks to my team
Dankie span. I truly appreciate your warm welcoming service even when we have these weird requests from time to time. From Kelly-Ann in PLZ to OPS in GRJ and everyone inbetween. Jacques and Eric and Wayne, you can be proud of the way these people handle the business. I certainly am.
