How well do you know South Africa?
Take 60 seconds (or as long as you like) to test your skills.
I was surprised to learn how the ‘insider’ 3-letter abbreviations for the largest towns and cities in SA (as being used by courier companies) differ from what I thought was generally accepted. Nonetheless, we send bicycle to and from them all. Hence this quiz. Just 17 quick questions. Go for it.
[HDquiz quiz = “48”]
PS this was compiled from the United Nations Code for Trade and Transport Locations (UN/LOCODE) for ZA South Africa.

Here are some sneaky-sneaky clues, but you didn’t hear them from me:
— Cape Town (CPT, mountain tax)
— Paarl (PAA not PRL)
— Stellenbosch (STH not STB)
— Somerset West (SOM not S/W)
— And all three of STH & SOM & PAA fall under CPT
— George (GRJ not GRG)
— PE (PLZ not P/E)
— East London (ELS not E/L)
— Durban (DUR not DBN in KZN)
— Pietermaritzburg (PZB not PMB)
— Johannesburg (JNB not JHB)
— Pretoria (PRY not PTA)
— Nelspruit (NLP)
— Polokwane (POL not PLK)
— Bloemfontein (BFN in OFS)
— Kimberley (KIM not KBY)
— Anywhere else is a remote area 🙂
Oooh, this just got interesting. We’re expanding and focusing on the Garden Route and have just added a whole range of new depots from and additional service provider, including:
— Graaf-Reinet
— Grahamstown
— Cradock
— Fort Beaufort
— Springbok
— George
— Knysna
— East London
— Jeffrey’s Bay
— JHB (alternative)
— and Queenstown
There we go, just for you 🙂
