Customer asks…
Hey there!! 👋 How are you? Sorry that I am reaching out after business hours. I got your number from AJ Van Schalk Wyk in Plett and he said you offer a fantastic bicycle courier service. He said I must reach out to Nico? I was wondering if you would be able to quote me on a bicycle transport from Pietermaritzburg to plett for delivery sometime over the next 2 weeks?
*He then sent through the (A) collection address and (B) delivery address and (C) description of the boxed bicycle as in the photo above: The box and bike together weigh about 20 kg and the box is 160 cm x 90 cm x 30 cm.

(In instant/rapid-fire-response mode – each sentence in a separate message – don’t you just love/hate it when someone types like that in a WhatsApp booking? I am in the former camp. It’s quicker. Less waiting and staring at those ellipses to produce a new answer).
*Hi. Nico here. Glad to hear. We aim to please. Just R1099 to plett. In fact it was 999 before the fuel debacle. Hoping that it is short lived. If ready then we can collect tomorrow.or any other weekday. Let me know. Happy to help. Customer asks…
Asked whether the door-to-door rates applies as it is cheaper ie 799 iso 1099. And sent us the screen shot to show the difference. As on the home page for the #bicyclecouriers website. here below you can see the difference between the main centre shop and door rates vs the remote area rates:

…Bicyclecouriers reply
The door-to-door rate is between main centers. And the closest main centre to your delivery is George. So we can deliver to a bike shop in GRJ. Or in extreme case you can collect from our depot. And then the lower rate applies. Say deliver to Specialized in York street or similar.
Customer…
Understood 🙌. Happy to collect in George. And can I get someone else to collect on my behalf? And please send me the order details and invoice so that I can make payment for your lower rate to send it to GRJ tonight. Thanks so much! Are you able to supply vehicle details to the gentleman collecting from?
…Bicyclecouriers reply
Yes. Someone else can collect. We need his details in advance. To send through to the depot. And he must have a copy if his ID, letter of consent from you, and the PDF waybill and tracking with him to collect. You can’t be too sure these days. We take the security seriously. We then FWD a copy of the online order confirmation. Which he will also get on email.
*Thank you. Your order has been received. Order number: XXXXX. Date: June 9, 2026. Email: redacted. Total: R799. Payment method: Direct bank transfer (EFT). — Bank details for EFT: Bicyclecouriers Pty Ltd | Nedbank account number 1328369501 and branch code 198765. Tada! Customer paid. We collected and delivered. Bike went over the public holiday. All done. From the WhatsApp booking. Everyone is happy and we got great feedback. Plus another enquiry. Which is usually the way it goes. How was it for you? Please tell your mates! The biggest complement you can give us is to refer someone else…
Full circle
And there you have it. A WhatsApp booking with a customer query turned into a delivery for bicycle transport. To send a boxed bike from PMB to GRJ. In great time. Without a single phone call. Just email confirmations and paper trail. That leads to a happy customer in the end. Do you just love it when things work out perfectly, each time around?
