I love playing around on google and seeing what people do to find us. There are so many methods and metrics that you can easily be entertained for days on end. In this case I started browsing the similar businesses feature on google maps and found the following. Many of them I know personally, while others are completely unfamiliar or not quite relevant.
Oh, and I promise not to waste either your time or mine, as it is almost Freedom Day here in South Africa and we are off for a well-deserved holiday. Consequently, the first 15 or 20 results will be more than sufficient. Come and explore with me.
Cape Vélo Cycle Tours
Cape Vélo Cycle Tours is a Tour operator in South Africa, situated right here at Specialized in Stellenbosch. This owner-run operation comes highly recommended. owner Jaime Osman is a fun guy from the UK who loves it here in sunny SA and I’ve had the pleasure to do a Transbaviaans 230km MTB Marathon with him (his first) and also saw him on the ABSA Cape Epic this year. Bike Transporters have their google listing description as the ‘Department of transportation in Cape Town’. Stealthy. Again, same as above, nothing to see here in terms of self-propelled forward motion, as they also transport motorbikes and not bicycles. I do like the catchy description of ‘exclusive auto movers’. Bike Transporter – Bike Delivery – Nationwide
Listed as a Transportation service in Cape Town. The website listed refers to a towing service, so it is probably worth a phone call to see whether these guys are still operational. Oh yes I have seen these before. Cyclemove is part of Pickfords and also like cyclelab, but according to the website it looks like they only use cyclelab, no other bike shops. Take note. Cyclosport – Xtending Service, is a local bike shop in Van Riebeeck Rd, around the corner in Kuils River, 7580. And they have been voted the “Best bicycle shop in the Western Cape” for 2011, as in the January 2012 issue of Bicycling Magazine. Well done! Genius. Velosock is An indoor bike cover that keeps your home clean. It captures dirt in its stretchy, machine-washable cover. This Bicycle store situated in Dorp street, Stellenbosch might sound devilish, but the workshop is as pristine as the website, and you are in great hands with Dewald Oosthuizen, Geordie Roberson and the two Dylan’s. Yes please! I’ve done one of their Stellenbosch bicycle wine tours before and it was such a nice outing, highly recommended. And I did the most recent Argus for the Warrior on Wheels Foundation on a MTB that was rented from the Adventure Shop to tow Imaad’s buggy. Been there, done that, we’ve covered Triptych more than once on this site. Susanne has now also joined the ops team and we continue sending bicycles through them on the Triton network.
