Nedbank and bicycle couriers and cycling events
Wow. Such a powerful marketing message. Spot on Nedbank. Bicycle couriers completely agree. We think you got it 100% correct this time. Yes, bicycle couriers bank with Nedbank. Why? Because we have been loyal customers for years. And love the colours and the great banking app. From Boland bank and BOE to Nedbank and beyond. Where will this journey take us next? Well, that depends on where you want to send your boxed bicycle nextโฆ
GRAVEL: Nedbank Gravel Burn in the Garden Route
The Nedbank Gravel Burn is a grueling and immersive 7-day, 750km gravel bike stage race across South Africa. Created by Kevin Vermaak (founder of the Cape Epic), the event takes riders from lush coastal regions through the arid Great Karoo, ending at Shamwari Private Game Reserve. The Night Burn was something to behold. A chase-the-fox style criterium in the evening. The afterparty was quite something. The final stage culminates in “Big 5” wildlife territory, finishing near the Indian Ocean and allowing riders to share active game reserve space. And I loved staying in the burn camps. Bicycle couriers did not send bicycles to and from the GB last year. I simply went as a participant. And it was great fun. Despite my bicycle being left behind by the appointed bicycle transport company. Willingly and knowingly. But that is a story for another day.
DASH: Nedbank Desert Dash Namibia
The Nedbank Desert Dash is a legendary 24-hour, 401km ultramarathon mountain bike race across Namibia’s harsh and beautiful Namib Desert. It challenges elite and amateur cyclists to ride from the capital city of Windhoek to the coastal town of Swakopmund within a single day. Nedbank and bicycle couriers here? Yes we send boxed bicycles across the border from SA to NAM and back if you wish. Keep I mind cross border transfers are a bit more admin. Paperwork. Invoices. Duties. Declarations. And so on and so forth. But we make it happen. Just book long in advance. Not the day beforeโฆ
TULI: And the historical Nedbank Tour De Tuli in Botswana

The tour that was. The Nedbank Tour de Tuli WAS a premier, four-day mountain biking event traversing remote, unmarked routes across South Africa, Botswana, and Zimbabwe. Serving as a fundraiser for the Children in the Wilderness NPO, the event provides a fully supported, intimate riding experience limited to approximately 350 participants. Cyclists took on roughly 60-80kms daily across unmarked routes, ancient elephant trails, and technical single-tracks. Nedbank and Bicycle couriers sent bikes cross border from CPT and JHB in RSA to Botswana and back. Back in the days under the MMB banner. And Jacques Marais still took our photos for the website during that event. See jacquesmarais.co.za/
