What has happened in the world of Bicycle Couriers so far this year?
OH wow, we’ve been busy! The 35 blog entries for the 2024 YTD as below shows just how much. That works out to about a single cycling related article posted on the #bicyclecouriers blog for every week of the year so far. Is that what sets us apart from the competition when it comes to our online presence? Well, we don’t have a social following but do rank top #1 Google’s organic listing for bicycle couriers in South Africa, so you be the judge. Either way, this is what keeps us busy:
Bicycle couriers and local fuel prices
We started off the New year, with same low prices 🙂 for sending boxed bicycles all across South Africa. Then came the Good news for the petrol & diesel price in January 2024. And it seemed that our decision to keep our prices the same, ie 699 for most deliveries, 749 for door-to-door, and 999 for remote areas worked out just fine, because We took a chance, and it paid off.
Cycling Calendars in and out of South Africa
The definitive Bikepacking/Cycling Calendar is one of my favourite collections of cycling events from around the globe and might be seen by some as the ultimate cycling to-do list. We also showed the best of the best local cycling races and events in our The 30 Biggest Bicycle Races on the South African calendar. And for the ultimate list of cycling events in Southern Africa which includes a summary of all of the above, you have to look at the So many options: 300 races and counting!
Our ever-expanding Cycling network
One of the best performing articles for this year was announcing Bram’s upmarket bicycle rentals for IRONMAN® and other events in FINALLY! High-end carbon road bicycle rentals in South Africa. And it generates sales to this day. We also asked and answered the question of Who is the biggest BICYCLE COURIER company in South Africa? Off the bicycle and on an admin-related note, we added more payment options as can be seen in iKhokha: Adding more features FROM and FOR our customers. Bicycle couriers are also proud to say that we are Introducing our 6x NEW courier partners for non-bicycle and custom shipments. And most recently we added that Bicycle couriers is expanding again, up the N7. There you have it. Spreading our wings all the time.
Cyclelab gets their own spot
We often suggested boxing your bicycle for transport from a Cyclelab store if close by. And for that reason we compiled a list of who-to-contact at Cyclelab stores nationwide as found in Can you guess why we like Cycle Lab bike shops? After that came their expansion and they added 2x NEW shops: Now Cycle Lab is everywhere* — first in Ballito (now open) and another to be added in Paarl in the 4th quarter this year. And just after we said boxing a bicycle at Cyclelab costs R249 for the box and the labour, the price changed to R349.99 as noted in JUST IN: What does it cost to box a bicycle at Cyclelab? (which also talks about the Cyclelab and Morecorp cycleing loyalty rewards programme entitled MyCycleLife.
